Project and Community Support Program
The purpose of the province-wide Project and Community Support Program is to identify and assist AHWS-funded programs and projects that are experiencing difficulty to ensure and facilitate on-going capacity to achieve Strategy and program objectives.
Where appropriate, funding and/or assistance will link with other AHWS initiatives, such as the Training Fund, to maximize the use of available resources and to protect long-term investment in AHWS-funded communities/programs. Program functions include:
- Supporting the implementation and management of AHWS-funded programs and projects;
- Supporting and implementing the AHWS Projects in Difficulty Policy, as amended from time to time, by the Joint Management Committee;
- Providing direct community development assistance to AHWS-funded programs and projects to increase and maintain capacity and competence in program governance, program planning, program development, program management and administration, program evaluation and program re-design; and
- Establishing and/or supporting the development and maintenance of an adequate administrative and accountability infrastructure, including providing assistance in preparing accurate /complete documentation for annual submissions and required reports.
